The Indian Restaurant on Halsted, Urban Turban Lincoln Park

Lincoln Park finally has an Indian kitchen that isn't an afterthought. Urban Turban sits at 2660 N. Halsted St. between Diversey and Wrightwood — close enough to DePaul to be a student regular, comfortable enough for a proper sit-down dinner. The menu is North Indian dhaba food cooked to order: paneer tikka out of the tandoor, seekh kebabs off the skewer, biryani sealed and steamed per pot.

It's an easy neighbourhood stop — order online on the walk over and your pickup is bagged when you arrive, or take a table and let the kitchen pace the meal. Finish with gulab jamun or kheer from the restaurant's own dessert list.
