Is Urban Turban halal?
Yes. All chicken, goat and lamb in our kitchen is certified halal. It is the only meat we buy, so there is nothing to ask for and nothing to check.
Do you have vegan and vegetarian options?
Yes. Half of the menu is vegetarian, and much of it is vegan as cooked - dal, chole, sabzi, rice and roti. Dishes finished with butter or cream are marked, and we will leave them out when you ask.
What time do you close?
We close at 11:00 PM. We open at 2:00 PM on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Are you open on Tuesday?
No. Urban Turban by VeerGi is closed every Tuesday. We are open the other six days from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Which neighbourhoods do you deliver to?
Delivery runs through Uber Eats, DoorDash and Grubhub and covers Lincoln Park, Lake View, North Center, Uptown, Near North Side, Cicero, Lincolnwood, Avondale, Evanston, Oak Park, Logan Square, West Town, the Loop, Skokie, Edgewater, Lincoln Square, Hermosa, Elmwood Park and Albany Park. Pickup is ordered directly from us at tryurbanturban.com with no app fees.
Do you do catering, and how do I book it?
Yes. We cater office lunches, house parties, weddings and community events across Chicago from our Lincoln Park kitchen. Book on 312-955-0463 or send the inquiry form at tryurbanturban.com/catering with your date, headcount and veg or non-veg preference. We need two to five days' notice depending on the size of the order.

What should I order if I do not eat spicy food?
Most of our starters, grills and curries let you choose the spice level when you order - Mild, Medium, Spicy or Indian Spicy - so ask for Mild. The kids' Butter Chicken & Rice and Chicken Tikka & Masala Fries are made mild as standard.
What is the most popular dish?
Chole Bhature and Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani) are our most-ordered dishes. The kitchen's chef's picks are the Loaded Amritsari Kulcha with Chole, the Tandoori Mixed Grill (Chicago Dhaba) and Dal Makhani (Maa Ki Dal). Every dish has its own page at tryurbanturban.com/menu with the current price.
Do you take reservations?
Yes. Request a table at tryurbanturban.com/reservations with your name, phone, email, date, time and party size, and we confirm by email. We are closed on Tuesday, so Tuesday bookings are not available.
Is there parking?
Street parking, paid, on and around Halsted.
Do you have gluten-free options?
Several of our dishes are made without gluten-containing ingredients, and our in-house menu marks dietary options. Our kitchen works with wheat flour throughout the day, so we cannot guarantee there is no cross-contact. If you are coeliac, please call us on (312) 955-0331 before ordering and we will talk you through it.
Is the restaurant accessible?
We keep a portable ramp at the restaurant — let us know you are coming, or ask at the door, and our staff will set it up.
